Ultracet Generic, is an opioid, containing two pain-relieving agents, Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever, while Acetaminophen is less potent but enhances the pain-relieving effect of Generic Tramadol. Ultracet is used in the management of moderate to severe pain, and widely prescribed to arthritic patients.
Analgesics – narcotics and non-narcotics – it is believed, work by blocking signals of pain given by the neurotransmitters in the brain, numbing the sensation of pain, but without sedating the patient.
Ultracet is used in the treatment of Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, and for providing relief from pain in dental procedures post-surgery. Fibromyalgia manifests itself as widespread muscle pain and tenderness, but can also occur as a secondary condition in patients of Rheumatoid Arthritis [RA], Systemic Lupus Erythematosus [SLE], or Ankylosing Spondylitis [AS]. Even children are prone to developing arthritis; in their case it is known as Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis [JRA], but this medicine is not recommended for use in children below 16.
Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to Acetaminophen and Generic Tramadol, if you have taken alcohol, if you have taken any other painkiller, sedative, tranquilizer, anti-depressive, anti-seizure medication, or any “street” drug.
